Apply to become a member of the British Academy of Fencing
If you are a member of the British Academy of Fencing (BAF), you will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct and compliance in line with the requirements of British Fencing the National Governing Body for Sport Fencing in the UK.
The BAF strongly recommends that all members are accredited with the British Fencing Coach Register and as such, you will need to meet all the associated requirements, including:
- A valid Enhanced DBS check
- Up-to-date BF Safeguard Core welfare training
- A current First Aid qualification or Coverage
Although the BAF is not responsible for maintaining or verifying the British Fencing Coach Register, the academy may periodically check your accreditation status. Membership may be revoked in cases of continued or deliberate non-compliance.
You must make sure that you are undertaking activities that are within the scope of British Fencing insurance activities. If you are undertaking activities that are outside the scope of a British Fencing environment, you may need further Sports Coaching insurance.
